Lyric
Lyric comprise Jennifer Lowson, Christina Leeman and David Brewster and have been together for rather more years than they sometimes care to remember. They met through life in the village of Burton Pidsea in East Yorkshire and through performing in concerts and pantomime with their village ‘Players’. Originally there were four of them, when they were affectionately known as the DCJ’S.
Apart from the harmony singing, Lyric has never stuck with a single musical style. They perform traditional and contemporary folk, light popular, standards, and carols at Christmas. Arrangements are a cappella or with guitar and recorder. The album ‘Like a moth to a flame’ was assembled to reflect this broad musical taste with the title track written and arranged by Lyric. They perform in folk clubs but frequently provide musical support to fund raising evenings or private functions and they love to sing in Church concerts. By invitation, they were privileged to perform in the great hall at Burton Constable Hall just before Christmas 2007.
